Muslims understand submission, obviously (since that is what Islam translates to), so they are drawn to submitting or forcing submission. They cannot seem to bear the infinite possibilities that lie in between. The irony is that not forcing them to submit to your law and custom does not work for them, because that is what they understand and live by.
